Feedback is essential for improvement.

We all make mistakes and get things wrong from time to time. That is only natural.

When things go wrong, we need to be aware of what we did wrong and identify a solution to get it right the next time around.

It is in these moments that some of our greatest learning and growth takes place.

While we must receive feedback ourselves, we must also be able to deliver feedback to others.

It is not just about getting others to make changes to improve the results we achieve together. It is about helping them to grow and learn; often by benefitting from our experience.

In fact, if you don't deliver feedback when it is needed, you are letting both the other person and yourself down.

Too often, people don't want to be the 'bad guy' so they hold back from giving the necessary feedback.

Or, just as bad, they use terrible feedback techniques like the feedback sandwich to try minimise the negatiave impact.

In the audio below, I explain why the feedback sandwich is a bad idea and why you should avoid it.

If you lack the communication skills needed to deliver effective feedback you need to take action to sort that..
